Judd reminiscences, ca. 1941-1941.

Handwritten reminiscences, with a forty-two page typescript, by Winnie Ruth Judd about her childhood, young married life, relationships with Jack Halloran and the murder victims, and her version of the night of the murders including Halloran's involvement in packing up the bodies. The narrative stops abruptly in mid-sentence. The account is undated but appears to have been written about 1941.

Biographical note: Murderer; convicted in 1931 for the murders of Anne LeRoi and Hedvig Samuelson, Judd spent most of her life at the Arizona State Hospital and was finally paroled in 1971. She died in 1998. She was known as the "trunk murderess" because the victims' bodies were cut up and sent to Los Angeles in trunks. From the description of Judd papers, 1932-1953.
